Mary McDaniel will join PHMSA as a Compliance Officer in PHP’s Office of Enforcement starting September 13, 2010. Mary is well known and respected by PHMSA personnel and the greater pipeline community. Mary retired, effective August 31, from her position of Director of the Pipeline Safety Division with the Railroad Commission of Texas, where she has been since 1983. In her role as Director, she was responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the State of Texas’ pipeline safety program. She has directed the work of 64 professional, technical, and administrative personnel in headquarters and eight regions. She has been a member of the National Association of Pipeline Safety Representatives and the NARUC Subcommittee on Pipeline Safety. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. She has a professional engineers license in Chemical Engineering in the State of Texas. We wish her well in her new position.
